Super Bowl 53

Super Bowl 53

The Stage is Set for Super Bowl 53 …. The Los Angeles Rams will face Tom Brady and his New England Patriots for the NFL Championship Sunday, February 3rd at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Rams were able to beat the Saints in overtime after intercepting a Drew Brees pass and drive down the field to kick the winning field goal.

However, the game was over shadowed by a huge “no-call” pass interference on the Rams.  It’s highly likely that the Saints would have ran the clock down and kicked the winning field goal in regulation, IF the referees had thrown the flag on an obvious pass interference call.

The Saints went on to kick a field goal for a 23-20 lead.  However the Rams sent the game to overtime with a field goal.  Now the Los Angeles Rams will face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 53.

The New England Patriots Prevail Again!

Tom Brady and his New England Patriots are back in another Super Bowl.  The Patriots defeated the Chiefs 37-31 in overtime to advance to Super Bowl 53.

The Chiefs had the game won in regulation with an interception of Brady on a 3rd down play, but Dee Ford was off sides after lining up in the neutral zone.

This is one penalty a defensive player should NEVER have.  Just use common sense and see where the ball is lined up.  This was truly a costly mistake.  The Chiefs interception would have stood and they would be packing their bags for Atlanta right now.

Super Bowl 53 Story Lines

The New England Patriots will be making their 10th Super Bowl Appearance and will be attempting to win their 6th Super Bowl.  Only the Pittsburgh Steelers have won more Super Bowls than the Patriots.

Brady will be padding his record of most Super Bowl appearances by a Quarterback.  He is tied with Charles Haley of a player have more Super Bowl Rings with 5.

A Super Bowl win by Brady and The Patriots will solidify a case for him as the greatest quarterback of all time.

The Los Angeles Rams will be making their 3rd Super Bowl Appearance.  They won the title once, but as the St. Louis Rams.  These Los Angeles Rams will be making a bid to win a Super Bowl for the city of Los Angeles.

They will be facing an up hill battle going against the Tom Brady and his New England Patriots dynasty.  This should be a fun, high-scoring Super Bowl.

Although it is the Patriots facing the Rams in Super Bow 53, it could have easily been the Saints facing the Chiefs.  But it wasn’t meant to be.
